MOVIES THAT MADE ME THINK …

1.ARANYA KAANDAM – 2010

It’s an out and out two different story plot drama which is happening in one of the India’s metropolitan city “Chennai”. The first plot is where two mafia gangs competing to show power in their drug business and the other plot leads with a rural guy who is migrated to Chennai with his 10-12 year old son. The lead role was done by actor “Sambath”, working has first men gangster in one of the mafia groups who’s seeking for a chance to get settled in life as soon as possible. Jackie Shroff – another versatile actor from Indian cinema, rolled in this drama as 60 plus year old gangster who’s not in the business actively due to his bad health and also he sex slaves a girl who’s much more younger(20’s) to him.

2.KATTRADHU TAMIZH – 2007

“Kattrathu Tamiah” is an off-beat film which has been made with a high cinematic skill and great imagination. It is an engrossing tale of a man agonizing for the cause of his mother-tongue, Tamil, which is in the decline. Debutant director Rama Subbu (shortly, Ram) has taken up a lofty theme which is relevant to the present context of growing inequalities in all walks of life and captures it in a manner that touches the hearts of the audience. Ram, an associate of director Balu Mahendra, has tried to show the ordeals faced by a youth who is a post-graduate in Tamil language in getting a job and his disillusions. His travails eventually turn him a killer.

3.ANBE SIVAM – 2003.

This is one movie you will not want to miss. If you don’t like atheism, the movie will still teach you to show love for animals, how to be kind, to teach you social responsibilities like donating blood and what not. If these do not fall inside your interest paradigm, you could enjoy the movie’s music, humor, action and love sequence. If you missed this movie, you have missed a movie that is complete in all aspects.

4.7/G RAINBOW COLONY – 2004.

where do I start this is by far “the best love story” ever made there were many moments in this which made me cry, the protagonist of the film is just an average Joe with whom most of the young college going guys from Indian suburbs can relate with having nothing much to do he roams around with his friends and gets into petty fights with people around him, then comes this beautiful girl into his life who later becomes his love, passion and life and changes him for good, she makes him realize what his actual talent is and the way in which their whole love story is dealt is beyond brilliant. by the end of the film, u will be left with a mixed bag of emotions. words can’t describe how much I love, relate to this film.

5. VISAARANI – 2015.

Visarani in its vagueness to expose a larger atmosphere for the Organism of System perfectly sums up the horrible dilemma of innocent fishes pushed into predatory waters that is timely polluted by forces unknown. “

6 . AAYIRATHIL ORUVAN – 2010.

If someone ask me which movie you can select, if you compete with Hollywood movie, I would say without any second thought “Aayirathil Oruvan” is the movie which would challenge the Hollywood film makers.”

Selva’s frenziedly unleashed creativity makes you hallucinate towards the end of the movie and delirium sets in soon. It’s not enough that a solid disclaimer is in place, a little bit of research about the subject would’ve helped things in the process. The underdeveloped script lacks everything – starting from strong plot twists to captive locations to graphics to credibility, above all.

7 . PARIYERUM PERUMAL – 2018 .

Pariyerum Perumal”  is about rising above this helplessness, this humiliation. It’s about becoming assertive, even aggressive. Early on, we see Pari at a waterhole with his friends. When he sees some upper-caste youths walking towards them, he urges his friends to leave. He doesn’t want trouble. He just wants a way out of his life, and that way out is through education. But as the humiliations mount — through speech through actions . this “nice boy” begins to transform into an Angry Young Man. He even distances himself from the girl who loves him.

8.ARUVI – 2016 .

Aruvi is a film you experience almost entirely through the her face. I say girl, because even when she grows up, Aruvi is still a girl.

9 . MAYAKKAM ENNA – 2011.

” Karthik and Yamini can’t stand each other ,

but there lies the twist when opposites attract. “

10 . HEYRAM – 2000 .

The life of Saket Ram, the man who nearly killed Mahatma Gandhi, is dramatized in this film that examines the tumultuous political and social history of India in the 1940s. In 1946, Ram (Kamal Haasan) was an archaeologist of the Hindu faith who believed the partition of Hindus and Muslims was ultimately destructive for both sides and regarded a Muslim, Amjad (Shah Rukh Khan), as one of his closest friends. But political turmoil resulted in the cancellation of a dig that employed both men, and Ram returned to his home in Calcutta. Subsequently, violence broke out between Muslims and Hindus in the city, and a gang of Muslin extremists invaded Ram’s home, raping and murdering his wife Aparna (Rani Mukharjee). Ram was traumatized by this event and soon joined a radical Hindu group, hoping to avenge his wife’s fate before he returned to rural India and the village where he was born. Ram consented to a marriage arranged by his parents, but he did not love his new spouse Mythili (Vasundra Das), and spent more and more time with the Hindu radicals, who in time choose him for a special assignment — the assassination of Gandhi, whose unification efforts they had come to oppose. Containing sequences in both color and black-and-white, Hey! Ram moves back and forth between the late 1990s, as an ailing Ram recalls his life story, and the 1940s, where the incidents he remembers are played out .

11 . PERANBU – 2018 .

Peranbu is a story which brings out the emotions and positivity that stays low inside some one’s mind. It fills your heart with a scope for better opportunities in life. The movie shows the bright side of our life in a different way which demands us to think about our life .”
